Lifeguards and/or Swim Instructors - Weekday & Weekend Shifts

Job DescriptionDescriptionEnforce and demonstrate a strong knowledge of all the rules of the YMCA Basketball League. The league rules are High School Rules with a few modifications. Work 2-4 games in any given night that you are assigned to work. Pay: &nbsp;$40 per hour/per game Job Description:&nbsp; • Work score, stat sheets and scoreboard if needed &nbsp;• Arrive 15 minutes before schedule time &nbsp;• Receives and follows detailed instructions &nbsp;• Must be capable of working under pressure &nbsp;• Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional and tactful manner &nbsp;• Assist with the set-up of the gym before games and the cleanup &nbsp;• Ensure a safe and positive experience &nbsp;• Work closely with the league coordinator to ensure the league runs smoothly &nbsp; Key ResponsibilitiesJob Requirements: •Must be at least 21 years old &nbsp;• High School Diploma or GED

<li>Obtain CPR and First Aide Certification within 90 days of employment.&nbsp; Referees will also be required to maintain these certifications by attending all necessary trainings.&nbsp;</li>

The ideal candidate is personable and has the ability to manage busy environments. Lifeguards must have the ability to recognize and respond to hazardous situations. They must be able to supervise swimmers, minimize dangers, educate members about water safety, enforce rules and give assistance whenever needed.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Understands emergency procedures and recognizes and responds to emergency situations in the pool area.</li>
<li>Maintains effective, positive relationships with members, participants and other team members.</li>
<li>Understands and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool area. Takes responsibility for implementing and supporting change of policies/procedures.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate pool records as required by the YMCA and state/local Health Department code.</li>
<li>Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed; this includes rescue equipment and well stocked fanny packs and first aid kits.</li>
</ul>
