Cape Poge, Leland, and Wasque form a breathtaking, ten-mile barrier beach system on Chappaquiddick, a small island just a quick ferry ride from the main island. Long Point Wildlife Refuge, located on the south shore of the main island, combines sweeping upland vistas with pristine coastal habitats. These idyllic and diverse beaches not only showcase some of the island’s most iconic landscapes but also serve as vital habitats for an array of threatened species. As a part of our team, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our nesting shorebirds and make a tangible difference in preserving these special ecosystems.
The Role: 
As the Shorebird Technician, you will monitor and manage several species of beach-nesting birds on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.

Specifically, you’ll:

<li>Perform daily monitoring, management, and data collection activities for all focal species including breeding piping plovers, American oystercatchers, black skimmers, and several species of tern. </li>
<li>Ensure data is accurate, organized, and up to date. </li>

<li>Assist with targeted predator control and monitoring efforts. </li>

Our Agroecology Initiative is a foundational body of work within The Trustees’ agricultural strategy and the overall organizational centering of climate resilience. The initiative transforms our agricultural purpose and leverages our farmland to boldly ask questions about emerging climate smart and agroecological practices. Our agroecology work bridges sustainable production and habitat management, seeking to reduce tradeoffs and maximize productivity and ecosystem function. Managed grasslands provide critical habitat for various native species, including threatened grassland nesting birds. As the Agroecology Technician, you will primarily support the important effort at our largest farm, Appleton Farms, in Ipswich, MA, which has supported some of the largest populations of grassland nesting birds in eastern Massachusetts. 

The Role: 
The Trustees seeks an Agroecology Technician for the summer season to assist with implementation and data collection for a series of field-based experiments including grazing impacts on grassland nesting birds, native willows for water quality, and multifunctional perennial hedgerows in field crops. Implementation work represents a substantial component of this role, you will carry out maintenance protocols within these projects, including planting, mulching, weeding, and string trimming. There will also be opportunities to participate in restoration work, vegetation surveys including invasive plants, and grassland bird monitoring across Appleton, Powisset and Chestnut Hill Farms. 

Specifically, you’ll:

<li>Support ongoing project implementation: planting, weeding, watering, pruning, etc. </li>

<li>Participate in property-wide ‘baseline standards’ data collection. This will include regular monitoring of ecological and agricultural concerns potentially to include soils, forages, vegetation, birds and insects. </li>

The Biologics CMC Developability (BCD) group sits at the interface of discovery and development. The core role of BCD is to deliver meaningful and actionable data to support stakeholders in the selection of candidate molecules to progress through the pipeline. The group applies innovative high throughput assays by leveraging automation to enable support for a wide range of programs and molecules.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Key responsibilities include:&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis of key molecules&nbsp;</li>
<li>Knowledge of LCMS instrumentation and data analysis is critical&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience with Oligonucleotide analysis&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
Minimum Qualifications &nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or other related field.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience in biologic mass spectrometry sample preparation, data collection, and data analysis combined with knowledge of LCMS instrumentation is critical.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience with oligonucleotide analysis is necessary.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027</li>
</ul>
