JOB OVERVIEW
Provides essential support during load-ins and strikes and serves as a follow-spot operator during performances. This is a foundational role focused on the physical execution of lighting designs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Operate spotlights as assigned and perform show-run duties as directed by the Head Electrician or Stage Manager.
- Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production, including plot and show run sheets
- Assist in the hang, focus, and strike of lighting and projection equipment.
- Complete pre-show checks and post-show shutdowns; assist in cleaning and maintaining fixtures and the lighting booth.
- Aid in the construction of specialty items and the organization of the electrics shop.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of theatrical lighting fixtures and safety procedures.
- Previous experience operating follow-spots in a professional or educational setting.
- Ability to follow complex cues and maintain concentration during performances.
- Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably at heights.
