JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain stockroom in an orderly fashion. Order parts to maintain required parts stock & department supplies. Receive parts and customer equipment. Pack parts for shipment and load equipment for shipment. Issue parts to mechanics. Document parts received for jobs and deliver to the department that requested them. Match receivers with purchase orders and send completed receivers to purchasing. Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times in dealing with employees, truckers and phone contacts.
WORK TO BE PERFORMED:
- Order stock parts to maintain an inventory & supplies adequate for shop usage.
- Contact vendors to order at the best price.
- Keep stock shelves orderly and clean.
- Maintain stock quantity cards in bins.
- Load customer’s truck(s) or our truck using hoists or forklifts.
- Unload deliveries with hoists or forklifts.
- Pack parts and arrange shipments by freight, UPS or by any other shipping means.
- Prepare shipping labels and manifests for shipment.
- Issue stock to mechanics and prepare requisitions.
- Match receipts with purchase orders and forward completed receivers to purchasing.
- Follow up on missing or erroneous deliveries.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand and walk around stockroom for at least eight hours per day.
- Capable of driving forklifts and using hoists.
- Pack large cartons or prepare skids for shipment securing with banding straps.
- Carry packages of parts or use hand trucks to deliver parts to departments.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Minimum of two years of experience in stockroom management is required.
- High School diploma is required.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s license is a mandatory requirement.
- Willingness to work in other departments when required.
- Willingness and capability of working overtime, even with minimal/short notice.
- Be able to write clearly and legibly.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS:
- Trained to operate forklifts and hoists.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY:
- Safety shoes and safety glasses are required.
- Gloves as required.
Required Base Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Some overtime maybe required)
