Job Title: Senior JasperReports Developer
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid: 2 days onsite per week)
Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract
Local Candidates Only with in 50 miles of Boston MA
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced JasperReports Developer to join our team in a hybrid role based in either Boston, MA. This role requires a hands-on developer with strong technical expertise in Jaspersoft Studio and report development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of JasperReports architecture and deployment, and a passion for building high-quality, performance-optimized reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities of Jasper Reports Developer:
- Design, develop, and maintain complex reports using Jaspersoft Studio and JasperReports Library
- Work with business analysts and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into functional reporting solutions
- Manage report deployment, configuration, and performance optimization across environments
- Ensure high-quality output in multiple formats including PDF, Excel, HTML, CSV, XML, etc.
- Maintain and support existing reports and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reports into Java-based web applications
- Provide technical guidance and best practices around report development and Jaspersoft architecture
Required Qualifications of Jasper Reports Developer:
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with JasperReports and Jaspersoft Studio
- Strong understanding of Jaspersoft architecture, including server deployment and configuration
- Proficient in designing pixel-perfect, parameterized, and interactive reports
- Solid experience working with data sources such as SQL databases and JDBC connections
- Familiarity with file format outputs (PDF, XLSX, HTML, CSV, etc.)
- Experience with Java-based technologies including Servlets, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Understanding of J2EE architecture and application integration
- Strong debugging, optimization, and performance tuning skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with dashboard development and visualizations using charts, graphs, bar charts, etc.
- Familiarity with custom reports and complex sub-report structures
- Knowledge of mail integration for automated report distribution
Work Arrangement:
- Hybrid schedule: Mandatory 2 days onsite per week (Boston, MA)
- Remote work allowed for remaining days
