A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse with stepdown care expertise to support acute cardiac and medical patients. This contract role focuses on providing outstanding clinical care and close patient monitoring in a dynamic Cardiac Medical Unit. The position requires proficiency in telemetry and advanced nursing skills to manage complex cardiovascular conditions and related procedures.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with stepdown or telemetry nursing experience
- Skilled in cardiac patient management including CHF, chest pain, COPD, and stroke overflow cases
- Competency with advanced unit procedures such as thoracentesis, pacemakers, cardiac catheterizations, tracheostomies, and peritoneal dialysis
- Certification in ASLS and BLS required
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse electronic documentation system preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented unit caring for up to 20 patients, with a ratio of 5:1

Typical Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive cardiac stepdown care with emphasis on telemetry monitoring
- Manage and assess patients with complex cardiac and respiratory conditions, maintaining safety and comfort
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during bedside shift rounds and provide thorough handoffs
- Adhere to unit policies and professional dress code to uphold care standards
- Utilize technology and equipment including IV pumps, Sara Steadys, Hi-flow, Bipap, and Kangaroo pumps effectively
Schedule:
- Three 12-hour shifts per week plus every other weekend or a four-week shift rotation, allowing for work-life balance
