Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and successfully executes unbiased run plans for the collection of bag images on both checkpoint and checked baggage systems. This will include working with explosives, explosive simulants, prohibited items, and creating Stream of Commerce (SOC) images.
- Supports data collection and test activities at customer sites including reporting of progress/results, coordination with the Manager, Data Collection and Analysis and algorithm staff to ensure collected data meets the objectives and quality standards.
- Uses software tools to label and “truth” images and their contents to support developments of the algorithm team. In addition, the candidate will be asked to review work by other labelers in the organization for accuracy.
- Uses OS and software tools for tasks such as copying, converting, and archiving data to varied file formats using tools in Linux or emulator software.
- Reports software bugs and other anomalies in tracking systems such as JIRA.
- Researches, Maintains, utilizes, and expands an inventory of test items and prohibited items as needed for internal and external customer efforts. Works with the team to specify required test and evaluation articles to support data collection and system validation efforts
Education, Work Experience, Skills and Competencies Requirements:
- BS/BA in Physics, Data Science, Chemistry or similar accredited education and/or experience
- Currently hold or eligible to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance (must be a US citizen).
- Experience with MSOffice tools such as Teams, Excel, Word and Project. Experience using Linux and Linux database software strongly preferred.
- Experience in the aviation security industry preferred.
- 4-8 years of experience working in an engineering team environment. Ability to effectively lead small teams in execution of time-sensitive tasks in a regulated environment.
- Up to 20% travel may be required to regulator sites, airports and other potential sites for data collections and other activities.
