As a Skilled Carpenter, you'll play a vital role in transforming our clients' visions into reality. Working under the guidance of the Foreman and Site Supervisor, you'll handle projects from framing through to the finishing touches, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility and grow your carpentry expertise. This role is ideal for someone independent and proactive, capable of leading tasks on-site while contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all facets of construction, from framing to finish carpentry, with minimal supervision
- Set up and maintain a clean, organized job site, following safety protocols
- Provide guidance and support to apprentice carpenters and laborers
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they're ready for use each day
- Interpret blueprints and plans, accurately laying out and installing doors, windows, cabinets, and other custom elements
- Coordinate daily construction logistics, including materials and tooling
Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years of experience in carpentry, with strong skills in custom residential remodeling
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and an understanding of framing, trim, cabinetry, and finish work
- Experience with job site safety practices, OSHA certification preferred
- Massachusetts construction supervisor license or willingness to obtain it is a plus
- Reliable transportation and ability to work within a 30-mile radius of Gloucester, MA
- A proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and genuine interest in high-quality craftsmanship
