A registered nurse with strong Med/Surg Telemetry skills is needed for a contract position in Boston, MA, offering an opportunity to work across multiple hospital units. This role requires flexibility to float among eight different inpatient units, providing diverse experience and dynamic daily responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care across Med/Surg telemetry units including emergency and acute mental health areas.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret strips every 4 hours, and manage cardiac drips.
- Care for non-ventilated ICU patients ready for transfer.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for patient documentation.
- Maintain accurate clinician-to-patient ratios with shifts accommodating up to 6 patients per nurse during nights.
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts RN license.
- Minimum of two years acute care hospital experience.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation.
- Experience with TR Band and managing cardiac drips.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Schedule:
- Night shifts and every other weekend for approximately 36 hours weekly.
