A contract opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist to provide services during the Extended School Year (ESY) program in an elementary educational setting. This role involves working with students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, supporting their physical therapy needs within a school environment. The assignment is based in Springfield, MA, with a defined duration from July 7, 2025, through August 7, 2025.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist licensure or certification as required by state regulations
- Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably in school or educational settings
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on improving mobility and functional abilities
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of school-based physical therapy practices and adherence to federal and state IDEA regulations
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and deliver physical therapy services tailored to the individual needs of students from PK through grade 8
- Document therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans in accordance with school district policies
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and staff to integrate therapy goals within the educational context
- Participate in meetings such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) reviews as needed
- Ensure a safe and supportive therapy environment conducive to student growth
This role offers a focused, short-term contract to contribute specialized physical therapy support during the ESY program. The schedule and workload will align with the school calendar and program requirements.
