The Instructional Media Developer is responsible for creating engaging and interactive training content that will help the payment card industry understand the controls needed to protect customer's cardholder data.

The position will require a fundamental understanding of both instructional design principles and multimedia development. You will be expected to work collaboratively with team members and subject matter experts to translate highly technical document-based information into understandable and engaging online training. This source content may be in the form of existing technical documentation, ILT course material, or existing online courseware needing updates.

This is a hands-on role, requiring functional expertise in developing courseware and exams for e-learning, instructor-led and blended learning experiences. The team works collaboratively to ensure all courseware is designed, developed, and reviewed for consistency and quality. There may also be limited travel required to support face-to-face meetings to support various working group or council meetings as standards are being developed.

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Develop content for instructor led training and computer-based training courses
  • Ensure SSC training and related materials are high quality and facilitate student learning across a global audience as measurable through the use of course feedback surveys for both ILT and CBT content
  • Maintaining and publishing ILT and CBT courses.
  • Internal communication and coordination with other technical teams such as Standards, Certification Programs, and Assessor Quality Management teams
  • Develop curricula based on interviews, surveys, and tests and support the modification of training materials based on results
  • Monitor completion, comprehension, and retention of the content deployed to identify content effectiveness, as well as continuous improvement opportunities and lessons learned
  • Support the courseware translation process as required for regional-specific needs

What you bring to this role:

  • Experience using the ADDIE instructional design model
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Articulate 360 (minimum 2 years' experience), specifically with Storyline and Rise.
  • Graphic design skills (3 years' experience)
  • Audio and video editing skills (3 years' experience)
  • Technical writing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Comfortable working independently and part of a team
  • Strong organization & time management skills
  • Blend of curiosity, creativity, persistence, commitment, passion, and optimism, as well as flexible, proactive, quick to learn and possessing a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to travel 5% or more

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with implementing, assessing, or training to any of the PCI standards
  • Understanding of the financial industry and the lifecycle of payment card transactions, audit methodologies and security assessment tools, coupled with working experience with software development methodologies and practices
  • Understanding information security best practices and applying that knowledge to PCI requirements

Pay Transparency Details:

For the contract period, compensation is expected to range from $40 to $60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. If converted to a full-time role, the expected annual salary range is $80,000 to $100,000, plus benefits.
