This contract role offers the chance to provide compassionate end-of-life care within both inpatient and home or assisted living settings. Key Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with 3-5 years of clinical experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proven ability to manage complex symptom assessment and medication administration via multiple routes.
- Strong communication skills for patient, family education, and participation in goals of care discussions.
- Experience with pain management, central line care, wound and ostomy management, and palliative sedation.
- Comfort with technology, including electronic documentation and medication administration systems.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage caseloads of 12-14 patients in home settings or 5-7 patients in inpatient hospice care.
- Utilize clinical judgment in symptom management, palliative care, and end-of-life planning.
- Perform procedures such as subcutaneous infusion starts, venipuncture, and tracheostomy care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurse practitioners and ancillary staff.
- Participate in weekend rotation and occasional float assignments across the service area.
- Maintain compliance with strict protocols and documentation standards.
