Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a licensed RN or LPN to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing support for a medically fragile student in a middle school setting. This contract position spans the current school year, starting immediately through June 2026, with a focus on both transportation and in-school care.
Location:
- Billerica, MA (work includes transporting the student to their educational placement in Lexington, MA)
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care and assistance to a medically fragile student during transportation via a special education van from home to school and back.
- Help the student prepare safely for each trip, ensuring comfort and readiness.
- Work Monday through Friday, starting between 7:00-7:30 AM, with the school day ending around 2:00 PM.
- Collaborate with the nurse located at the out-of-district campus where the student attends.
- Availability for float nursing roles throughout the district as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current RN or LPN license.
- Prior experience in school nursing or working with medically fragile students preferred.
- Ability to manage transportation-related nursing tasks safely and efficiently.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with transport and school staff.
