Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup/Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience setting up and machining complex precision components 12" in diameter and larger. This role requires advanced knowledge of machining high-temperature alloys, including Inconel and Pre-Heat Treated materials, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and adjust CNC lathes to machine high-precision components to exact specifications.

Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

Perform tooling selection, installation, offsets, and adjustments to optimize machining performance.

Machine complex parts 12" diameter and above, ensuring accuracy and adherence to tolerances.

Work with high-temperature and specialty materials including Inconel, high-temp alloys, and pre-heat treated steels.

Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using appropriate measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).

Troubleshoot machining issues, tool wear, machine errors, and process deviations.

Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure a safe and organized work environment.

Collaborate with engineering, programming, and quality teams to continuously improve processes and output.
Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 3 years of CNC Lathe setup and operating experience.

Strong knowledge of machining large diameter parts (12" and above).

Experience with Inconel and other high-temperature or hardened materials is required.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.

Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques.

Strong problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
