Entry level AT Specialist to provide itinerant evaluation, training, and technical support services related to the use of assistive technology in the community to adult persons with varied disabilities. This position will be based out of the North Shore MA region - covering Haverhill, Gloucester & Lawrence.
Essential Functions:
- Perform evaluation of client’s needs for adaptive technology.
- Provide training related to computer technology and adaptive equipment to individual clients and/or caregivers.
- Coordinate equipment requisitions with clients, funding agencies and other interested parties, and provide installation of equipment as needed.
- Provide training to clients and contracting agencies regarding assistive technology both remotely and in person at various locations based upon client’s needs and preference.
- Conduct professional education programs.
- Maintain appropriate documentation based on professional practice, regulatory requirements, Easterseals policies and procedures, contracting agency requirements and third-party payor guidelines.
- Achieve established productivity standards based on job assignment.
- Submit paperwork and billing requirements in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards and with strict adherence to deadlines.
- Follow Easterseals policies and procedures.
- Follow policies and procedures of contracting agency.
- Performs any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
- Actively participate in team meetings.
- Resolve routine administrative problems.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of related experience or Bachelor's degree related to AT
- Strong computer experience
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Previous work with persons with disabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of disability related issues preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- MA CORI check, national background check, and professional references check
- In order to provide direct client care, the selected candidate must be able to provide a recent physical indicating the ability to perform the essential functions of the job either with or without accommodations, proof of negative TB test, and required immunizations (including fully vaccinated status for Covid-19)
Required Skills:
- Must have excellent communication and organization skills
- Must have excellent time management skills to prioritize responsibilities, meet established deadlines, and ensure the efficient completion of work assignments
- Ability to travel to/between multiple work locations
- Ability to work independently
Work Schedule:
- Full Time at Easterseals is 35 hours per week
- Work schedule flexibility to accommodate needs of client/contracting agency may be required with occasional opportunity to work 40 weekly hours
- Working in person with clients is required. The environment will be different depending on where client meeting is taking place based upon client’s location/preference
- Occasional flexibility in work hours required including nights or weekends to accommodate needs of client, contracting agency, and for special events
- Occasional office setting, utilizing cubicle space
Physical Demands:
- Frequent communicating in person, via phone and through e-mail
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending
- Transport and deliver equipment
- Frequent lifting of 25 lbs.
- Maximum lifting of 50 lbs.
