Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant provides hands-on clinical and administrative support to physicians while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This role works closely with patients and clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, injections, immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within MA scope of practice
- Assist physicians during exams and take vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respirations
- Prepare patients for exams and assist with patient movement throughout the clinic
- Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and requisition supplies as needed
- Handle patient phone calls and provide instructions as directed by physicians
- Assist with medical records, referrals, lab slips, and documentation
- Support nursing procedures as directed by the physician
- Collaborate effectively as part of a flexible, team-oriented environment
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or ARC
- Ability to maintain CMA certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
