The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting general food microbiological testing, including generic pathogenic micro tests, under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor or as outlined in the protocol. The role involves revising, editing, and creating quality documents, counting and recording micro plate counts, and assisting in the processing of samples from receipt through testing. This includes all associated documentation and recordkeeping, ensuring thorough and timely completion as outlined in protocol.
Responsibilities
- Conduct general food microbiological testing including generic pathogenic micro tests.
- Revise, edit, and create quality documents.
- Count and record micro plate counts.
- Assist in processing samples from receipt through testing, including associated documentation and recordkeeping.
- Enter data into the internal electronic system.
- Ensure all steps are completed thoroughly and timely as outlined in protocol.
- Communicate promptly with the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
- Follow GMP/GLP Guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Experience in food chemistry.
- Quality assurance and quality control testing.
- Experience in sample preparation and media preparation.
- Proficiency in QA testing and QC testing.
- Knowledge in food science and microbiology testing.
- Experience in food analysis testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in micro testing or food analysis lab.
- Prior QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is required.
- Associate Degree or B.S. degree in food, chemistry, microbiology, biology or related field is preferred.
Work Environment
The position is fully onsite and part of a team of 10 individuals, reporting to the QA Supervisor. The role is on the 3rd shift, from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am, with weekend coverage required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ayer, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
