A registered nurse with specialized skills in emergency care is needed for a contract opportunity in the Emergency Department of a well-established medical center in Salem, NH. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, timely care in a fast-paced environment serving diverse patient needs, including trauma, stroke, psychiatric care, and complex cardiovascular conditions.

Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care in a 4-bed secured psychiatric annex, 25 procedure rooms, and 8 hallway beds
- Perform procedures such as trauma response, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma management, ultrasound-guided IV insertion, intraosseous insertion, eye exams, EKGs, and cardiopulmonary support
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, ED techs, and department coordinators
- Utilize advanced medical equipment, including Lucas devices, Hotline Rapid Infusers, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis medication systems
- Operate within policy-based protocols for lab, EKG, x-ray, and medication orders based on chief complaints
- Adapt to 4:1 patient ratios with flexibility during acute surges
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience (required for contract roles)
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (mandatory for contract nurses)
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and EKG interpretation preferred
Schedule:
- Every other weekend coverage required for contract nursing staff
