Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Registered nurses skilled in step-down care and telemetry monitoring are needed for an engaging contract assignment in Rochester, NH. This role focuses on cardiac medical step-down nursing, delivering specialized care for patients transitioning from critical care units with complex cardiac and respiratory needs.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid RN license with proficiency in telemetry monitoring
- Advanced nursing skills including management of chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, and tracheostomies
- Experience with cardiac procedures such as pacemaker care, cardiac catheterization, and CIWA assessments
- Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Comfort with electronic medical record documentation systems is essential
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in a cardiac step-down unit including med/surg telemetry and stroke overflow cases
- Monitor, assess, and manage cardiac patients with complex needs including heart failure, COPD, and chest pain evaluation
- Perform specialized procedures such as thoracentesis and peritoneal dialysis as per unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety
- Participate in bedside shift rounds and thorough handoffs to enhance patient care continuity
Scheduling:
- Commitment to 3 twelve-hour shifts per week plus every other weekend or a 4-week rotating shift schedule
