Position Summary
The General Manager (GM) holds full responsibility for business performance, including sales growth, business development, and complete P&L and balance sheet accountability. Operating within a decentralized structure, the GM drives strategy and execution to achieve growth, leveraging the power of the unified EDGE Business System.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership for the organization with full P&L responsibility.
- Develop and execute both short- and long-term strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets.
- Lead the annual operating plan and budget process; ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Oversee strategic planning, including capital investments, expansion initiatives, and workforce development to support future growth.
- Identify and resolve capacity constraints; implement expansion plans when needed to enable scalable and profitable growth.
- Build, mentor, and align a high-performing leadership team; ensure clarity of goals, accountability, and engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement in key operational and financial performance metrics.
- Foster collaboration across departments—Engineering, Operations, Finance, HR, IT, and Sales/BD —to eliminate silos and strengthen teamwork.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major customers, strategic partners, and key suppliers.
- Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to pursue new business opportunities and leverage Salesforce (EDGE) as a commercial growth tool.
- Analyze performance data to generate insights, guide decision-making, and communicate outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the company externally with customers, partners, community organizations, and potential acquisition targets.
- Champion compliance with all legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
- Serve as the face of the business—advocating for positive change and reinforcing Quantic’s values and culture.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven success as a senior business leader (GM, Business Unit Leader, or President) with P&L accountability in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale a business achieving 15%+ annual growth.
- Strong background and network within the Aerospace and Defense industries (experience in mid-mix, high-volume production environments preferred).
- Skilled in executing a Volume-Price-Cost (VPC) operating model and meeting growth, pricing, and cost objectives.
- Track record of recruiting, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams.
- Highly collaborative, transparent communicator with excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
- Commercially astute at building strong relationships with customers and vendors.
- Analytical thinker who can interpret complex data and make sound, informed decisions.
- Demonstrates a proactive, hands-on leadership style with a bias for action and accountability.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), strong interpersonal skills, and integrity beyond reproach.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with senior executives, sponsors, and C-suite stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical discipline.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
