Location: Norwood, MA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 5x8s Days
Pay: $1,955/week

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Norwood, MA, on a travel contract. The Physical Therapist will evaluate residents, design individualized treatment plans, and provide therapy to improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall quality of life. The ideal candidate is compassionate, adaptable, and experienced in geriatric rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations to determine residents’ physical function, mobility, and therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Deliver therapy interventions including gait training, strengthening, balance activities, and functional mobility support.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, safe mobility, and use of assistive devices.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and therapy sessions accurately in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with occupational therapy, speech therapy, and nursing staff to ensure holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Promote independence, safety, and quality of life through evidence-based physical therapy practices.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent PT experience, preferably in LTC/SNF settings.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • COVID-19 vaccine and recent tuberculosis test.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and resident-focused approach with geriatric rehab experience preferred.
