This opportunity is for an experienced registered nurse skilled in step-down nursing care, specializing in cardiac telemetry. The position offers a dynamic clinical setting where advanced nursing skills are essential, including managing complex cardiac patients and performing specialized procedures.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with proficiency in telemetry monitoring
- Experience in cardiac step-down units or med/surg tele settings
- Advanced skills in cardiac management such as thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis (PD), tracheostomies, pacemaker care, and managing cardiac catheterization patients
- Certifications in Advanced Life Support (ASLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, maintaining high patient care standards

Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients in a cardiac step-down unit with a 5:1 patient ratio
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment including IV pumps, Hiflo, BiPAP, and telemetry systems
- Collaborate with a dedicated team including RNs, LNAs, and unit clerks to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Perform bedside shift rounds and handoffs in alignment with hospital patient experience protocols
- Maintain documentation using a modern electronic health record system
Contract Details:
- Contract role with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts plus every other weekend or four-week shifts
- Staff operates within a four-RN team structure supported by charge nurse coordinators
