This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced ICU nurse skilled in managing critically ill patients in a dynamic intensive care setting. The position is based in Salem, NH, offering a chance to work within a well-equipped, medical-surgical ICU that cares for a mixed patient population with varying acuity levels.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a 20-bed ICU with varying patient-to-nurse ratios based on acuity, including ECMO, post-open heart surgery, ventilated patients, and critical care devices.
• Utilize advanced monitoring and therapeutic equipment such as IV pumps, telemetry monitors, Impella, IABP, CRRT, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP.
• Perform critical nursing procedures including pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, central and arterial line insertions, chest tube management, intubation, TEE, TTE, cardioversion, and transvenous pacing wire insertion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment.
• Adapt to a schedule including every third weekend with no call responsibilities.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Registered Nurse with active licensing.
• Must have telemetry experience; ICU or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with critical drips, mechanical ventilation, and advanced cardiac devices.
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS.
• High organizational skills with adaptability to changing clinical situations.
