Position Overview:

Role: Remote Special Education Teacher
Location: New Hampshire (fully remote)
Type: Full-time 1099 Contractor

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction (reading, writing, math, social skills) to students with IEPs via virtual platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with NH state standards and student goals.

  • Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet diverse learning modalities and needs.

  • Monitor student progress using data-driven tools, track growth, and adapt instruction accordingly.

  • Provide behavior intervention support and scaffold learning experiences to promote independence.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists (speech, OT, PT), parents/guardians, and administrators.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, student support team meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and trainingsvirtually and occasionally in person.

  • Assist with testing acmodations (e.g., extended time, alternate formats) per IEPs.

  • Stay up to date on best practices in special education, assistive technologies, and remote instruction tools.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field

  • Valid NH special education teaching license or eligibility for licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of special education teaching experience

  • Proficiency with virtual platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, LMS systems)

  • Strong knowledge of NH Special Education regulations and federal IDEA guidelines

  • Excellent munication skillsverbal, written, and collaborative

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership

  • Experience with multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), RTI, positive behavior supports

  • Familiarity with assistive technology software (e.g., text-to-speech, AAC tools)

  • Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Reading Recovery, Wilson, or Orton-Gillingham
