Summary
This is an exciting position for an entrepreneurial and team-orientedpersonlookingfor a fun and exciting challenge.In 2021, Camp Harbor View launched one of thecountry's first privately funded Guaranteed IncomePrograms (GIP).After a successfultwo-yearpilot, CHV made the Guaranteed Income Program a permanent offering to familiesinthe Leadership Academy.GIP isdesigned to promote financial stability andeconomicmobilitythrough regular cash payments, one-on-one mobility support,and community convenings.
This person willbe responsible formanaging a caseload of participants, providing one-to-one resource coordinationand mobility support, and where applicable, group supportthrough coaching. The GIP Coordinator playsan important roleon the Family Services Team, carrying out the holistic support that Camp Harbor View provides to young people and their families.This person will also support Parent Engagement Events, Holiday Assistance Programs, and other events focused on supporting parents/caregivers.
Camp Harbor View is an innovative, fast-paced organization that deploys a participant-centered approach to all its programs. During the school year, the Family Services (FS) team works in an office setting to best support parents/caregivers of Leadership Academy students, our school-year program for Boston teens. During the summer, the Family Services team supports summer camp operations in addition to FS duties.
Responsibilities
- Support a cohort of 38 families in the GIP which includes regular check-ins,resourcecoordination andreferrals, and tracking goal progress
- Support5-10 GIP participants through mobility support which is one-on-one individualized coaching focused on participant-created goals
- Utilize modalitiesthat are consistent with program goals and that best fit withthe programparticipantsneeds, most notably focused on financial well-being
- Track all participant interactions and goal progress in client database
- Facilitate and manage quarterly meetingsfor Parent Advisory Board;plan and implement activities andeventsalong with board members,andtrack engagement
- Engage and work closely withother programs across the organization; ensuring effectiveandappropriatecommunicationis taking place around services forparticipants and families
- Partner with other external organizations for evaluationand program administration support
- Create monthly newsletters sharing financialstabilityresources, community events, workshop information, etc.
- Research topics areas relevant tothe GIP such as basic income,economic mobility best practices, coaching practices, trauma-informed care, and parent voice
- SupportParent Engagement Events, Holiday Assistance Program, and other Family Services programs
- Other duties that support the Camp Harbor View community as specified by theDirector of Family Servicesor organizational leadership team
Summer Responsibilities
- Support summer camp operations, including Family Daylogistics
- Assistwithexecutionof daily meals
- Assistwith camperdata collection
- Carry outadditionaloperational tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Previousexperience working one-on-one with program participants to support their goals(such as financial coaching, career coaching, educational coaching, etc.)
- Bachelorsdegreepreferredbut notrequired
- Proven ability to form relationships with people from diverse backgrounds including those of different racial, ethnic, linguistic,religiousand sexual orientation identities
- Knowledge ofBoston-based community resources in education, economic mobility, basic needs supportpreferred
- Experience using a client database such as Salesforce preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skillsrequired
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
