Job Summary
Dover Chevrolet Collision Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Body Shop Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and estimating, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, preparing repair estimates, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.

Duties

• Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed.
  
• Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates for customers.
  
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding their vehicle's condition and necessary repairs.
  
• Collaborate with technicians to ensure all aspects of the repair process are understood and executed properly.
  
• Manage customer expectations and provide updates on the status of repairs.
  
• Upsell additional services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and service profitability.
  
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions.
  
• Ensure compliance with dealership policies and procedures throughout the estimating process.
  

Skills

• Previous dealership experience is highly desirable.
  
• Strong knowledge of automotive service management practices.
  
• Proficiency in upselling services based on customer needs.
  
• Experience as a mechanic or service technician is beneficial.
  
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge.
  
• Understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements including oil changes, brake repair, and suspension work.
  
• Experience in auto estimating, service writing, and automotive repair processes.
  
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
  
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building relationships with clients.
  
• Knowledge of various automotive systems including transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, alignment, tire service, and diesel engine repair.
