OVERVIEW
We are supporting a fast-growing health and biotechnology organization building a platform that processes and analyzes large-scale biological and health data. This role focuses on designing and maintaining backend systems that support complex data pipelines, heavy computation, and AI-powered workflows.

This is an ideal role for a Backend Engineer who enjoys solving hard problems, working with large datasets, and building scalable systems from the ground up.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design and build scalable backend services using Python and Django
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that support a data visualization platform
• Optimize heavy computational workloads using asynchronous processing and efficient database queries
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis to manage complex data models and caching strategies
• Collaborate with senior technical leadership to integrate AI/ML models into production pipelines
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple data layers
• Containerize services using Docker and support deployment workflows

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong experience with Python and Django in production environments
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience with Redis or similar tools
• Experience supporting computationally intensive or data-heavy systems
• Familiarity working alongside AI/ML models in production is a strong plus
• Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Ability to quickly learn complex domain-specific concepts

COMPENSATION (BASE SALARY ESTIMATES)

• Junior level (0–2 years): $90,000 – $115,000
• Mid-level (3–5 years): $125,000 – $155,000
• Senior level (5+ years): $165,000 – $195,000+
