An organization in the Greater Boston area is seeking a skilled and compassionate Legal Assistant to provide legal advocacy services to survivors of domestic violence. This role involves intensive case management, legal system navigation, and collaboration with internal and external partners to support clients facing complex legal challenges.
The Legal Assistant will work directly with survivors to develop individualized goal plans, coordinate legal support services, and ensure access to resources across district, probate, immigration, and law enforcement systems. The position requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, cultural competence, and social justice principles.
Requirements:
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
- Strong crisis management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics and legal systems (e.g., 209A restraining orders, probate, immigration)
- Commitment to culturally competent, strength-based approaches
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a diverse environment
