Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to serve an intensive needs caseload within an elementary school setting, focusing on Kindergarten and First Grade students. The position is based in Bedford, NH, on a school-year contract from August 4, 2025, through May 31, 2026. The role requires working 35 hours per week, five days a week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support to students with significant educational and physical needs
- Assisting with toileting and wheelchair transfers as part of daily care routines
- Collaborating with therapists, staff, and families to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintaining accurate records and progress reports for assigned students
- Adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning requirements
Qualifications and experience:
- New Hampshire Special Education licensure is mandatory
- Experience working with intensive needs students in early elementary grades is preferred
- Ability to perform physical assistance tasks, including toileting and wheelchair transfers
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and patience to meet the demands of a dynamic classroom environment
