Job DescriptionPosition Summary:
The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software that supports diagnostic, service, and test fixture operations for the Companys CO laser-based dental system. This includes creating tools and interfaces for service personnel and end-users to monitor system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and perform preventative maintenance. The role involves close collaboration with hardware engineers, product managers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration between software and hardware components. The Software Engineer will also contribute to the development of automated test systems used in manufacturing and service environments, ensuring high reliability and usability across all diagnostic platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, document, test and debug software for diagnostic tools and test fixtures used in support of the CO laser-based dental system.
- Develop intuitive diagnostic interfaces and utilities for use by service personnel and end-users to monitor system health, perform troubleshooting, and execute preventative maintenance routines.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to create software that interfaces with embedded systems and sensors for real-time diagnostics and system validation.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle including requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation, and testing of service and diagnostic software.
- Write technical specifications and user documentation for diagnostic tools and test fixture software.
- Support the development of automated test systems for manufacturing and service environments.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance diagnostic capabilities and improve service workflows.
- Conduct software debugging and code analysis with a focus on reliability and maintainability in field-deployed systems.
Key Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in C# and object-oriented programming required.
- Experience in MAUI, WPF, Prism, and user interface development in XAML a plus.
- Experience with device serial communication a plus.
- Experience with C++ and/or Python development a plus.
- Firmware development experience and/or hardware-close development a plus.
- AWS experience a plus.
- Works independently with moderate supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
- High personal integrity and accountability, with a focus on delivering quality solutions.
- Detail-oriented and passionate about building tools that improve service workflows and system reliability.
- Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, service, and product teams.
- Proactive and resourceful in identifying and solving diagnostic challenges.
- Committed to continuous improvement and innovation in service and test software.
- Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience developing software required.
- Experience working within medical device or other regulated industry a plus.
