Job Title: Working Supervisor
Job Description
Supervise and oversee select Machine Shop areas, assign work, and train both current and new employees. Perform quality checks and audits while taking direction from the Machine Shop Manager and Supervisors. Engage in diversified operations utilizing various manual equipment such as Bridgeport millers, horizontal millers, lathes, CNC equipment, and other related machine shop equipment to manufacture complete parts from piece part prints.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee select areas within the Machine Shop.
- Assign daily work to employees using reports or verbal instructions.
- Train current and new employees on machine shop equipment.
- Perform exacting operations using equipment such as Bridgeport millers, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines.
- Set up work with existing tooling and fixtures and occasionally devise and fabricate specialized fixtures.
- Select cutting tools, machine spindle speeds, and feeds based on operations to be performed.
- Maintain SPC Data on all parts and ensure equipment maintenance by checking oil levels, greasing, and inspecting for wear.
- Conduct first piece inspections and inspect all machined components using necessary equipment.
- Evaluate and determine the best machining methods to ensure quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Supervise extended shifts and manage building opening and closing.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- High/vocational school diploma with specialized training in math, trigonometry, and complex blueprint reading
- Three to five years of related machine shop experience

This role operates in a combination of Manufacturing and Office environments with regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockland, Massachusetts.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
