Job Title: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology\nLocation: Concord, MA\nShift: 40 hours 7:30a-6:00pm 4x10s Mon-Fri-variability with day off Rotating call: M-F 6p-11p, Sat/Sun 7a-11p. Holidays required and weekends when needed.\nDuration: 13 Weeks\nReporting to the IR Section Leader, the Radiology Staff Nurse will provide quality-nursing care to both in and out patients in the department or radiology including pediatric, adult, elderly, acutely and chronically ill/patients.\nThe Radiology Nurse must be prepared to handle all unexpected emergencies that occur during any radiological procedure.\nThe nurse ensures patient privacy, dignity and safety.\nJob Functions:\n1.Complies with policies and procedures providing optimum patient care utilizing the nursing process.\n2.Prioritizes patient needs and functions as patient advocate.\n3.Assesses the biological, psychological, sociological, and cultural needs of the patient and the family. Assesses and monitors patient condition including vital sign monitoring and recognition of electrocardiogram changes, and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.\n4.Recognizes, documents, and assists in the treatment of contrast reactions.\n5.Intervenes in emergency situations.\n6.Assists radiologists with special procedures and treatments that require professional nursing skills.\n7.Administers conscious sedation and monitors patients as appropriate.\n8.Assesses need for and administers other medication as appropriate.\n9.Provides continuity of care for the critically ill patient.\n10.Demonstrates skill in using special equipment such as monitors infusion pumps, 02 equipment, ventilators, etc.\n11.Documents patient status and nursing interventions.\n12.Complies with patient identification protocol.\n13.Demonstrates ability to prioritize nursing responsibilities within the department.\n14.Provides health teaching and procedural information to patients and families\n\nExperience:\n3 to 5 years of nursing experience\nCritical care experience\nSkills:\nHas knowledge of all areas of nursing practice.\nDemonstrates mature judgment, initiative, and proficiency in nursing skills.\nIs able to work without direct supervision.\nShows professional interest through self-development, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations.\nIs knowledgeable in physical assessment, aseptic techniques, IV skills, and universal precautions.\nExcellent customer service skills.\nMust be able to read, write, and communicate in English.\nComputer skills required.\nAbility to maintain confidential information.\nCertifications:\nBLS & ACLS required\nMA RN License\n\nJob ID - # 25-40193- Manual
