Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations in a specialty pharmacy setting. This contract role requires strong leadership skills, regulatory knowledge, and expertise in specialty medications to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient pharmacy practice.
Location: Brockton, MA (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend on-call rotation
Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extension to 26 weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise prescription review, verification, and dispensing while ensuring compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC, and other regulatory requirements
- Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy for specialty disease states
- Lead, supervise, and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns
- Collaborate closely with Intake, Referral Services, Nursing/Clinical teams, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations to facilitate seamless prescription fulfillment and patient onboarding
- Maintain pharmacy records, manage quality assurance activities, and resolve incidents promptly
- Participate in an on-call weekend rotation
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License required; Connecticut Pharmacist License preferred or willingness to obtain rapidly
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, compounding, or hospital pharmacy settings; retail pharmacy background alone does not meet requirements
- Strong clinical knowledge of specialty therapies and payer requirements
- Experience supervising pharmacy staff and working with various clinical teams
- Familiarity with CareTend software is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and pharmacy software systems
