Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of In-Process Inspectors, QA Technicians, Manufacturing Quality Technicians, and Finished Goods Specialists.

Perform daily 5S and process audits on molding machines to ensure compliance with master control plans.

Lead visual and dimensional validations following mold repairs.

Generate and review documentation for new production jobs, including:
-
Quality Assurance Reports (QARs)
-
Control Plans
-
PFMEA
-
Process Flow Diagrams (PFD)
-
IQ/OQ/PQ reports
-

Conduct dimensional analysis studies using Minitab and statistical process control methods.

Execute incoming inspection on components and communicate with suppliers to resolve issues.

Partner with customers to:

Improve product line efficiency
-
Reduce scrap rates
-
Perform cross-validations to free up machine capacity
-
Implement inspection methods from CAPAs and nonconformance investigations
-

Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and generate RMAs as needed.
-
Disposition nonconforming in-house product with the Material Review Board (MRB).
-
Maintain calibration records for production-related measurement tools.
-
Troubleshoot and optimize OGP and CMM inspection programs.
-
Approve or reject visual inspections using QARs and General Appearance Samples (GAS).
-
Provide Line Clearances for production Start-ups and Restarts.
-
Serve as the liaison for Adjustment Requests with Process Technicians.

Enforce escalation protocols to address equipment or quality concerns promptly.
Qualifications
-
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or plastics environment.

In-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding processes and post-mold procedures.

Strong familiarity with:
-
QARs, visual inspections, and line clearance approvals
-
5S methodology, ISO 13485, GMP, and CAPA systems
-
Statistical tools such as Minitab, Gauge R&R, and process validations
-

Proven ability to troubleshoot metrology equipment such as OGP and CMM.

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
