Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher specializing in PreK-5 or PreK-8 within an elementary school setting. This role is designed for educators with a passion for working with young learners and a commitment to providing individualized support to students with special needs. The position runs from February 23rd to June 16th and offers a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on caseload.
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the developmental and academic needs of elementary-aged students.
- Collaborate with general education staff and families to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student performance and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher for PreK-5 or PreK-8.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education capacity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage and support a caseload of students.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
