Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver specialized critical care nursing in an intensive care environment focused on complex medical and surgical patients. This contract role offers an opportunity to utilize advanced nursing skills in a 20-bed ICU equipped with cutting-edge technology including ventilators, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and cardiac monitoring systems. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team providing care for high-acuity patients such as post-open heart surgery, ECMO support, and critical device management at variable nurse-to-patient ratios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage care for critically ill patients including preparation and monitoring of invasive procedures such as arterial line and central line insertions, chest tube management, thoracentesis, and pericardialcentesis.
- Provide ventilator management, including intubation and advanced airway support.
- Utilize telemetry and advanced cardiac monitoring, including TEE and TTE assessments.
- Administer critical drips and medication infusions safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using Sunrise EMR.
- Adhere to unit guidelines and participate in weekend rotations on a schedule of every third weekend with no on-call requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN licensure.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Prior ICU experience strongly preferred; candidates with telemetry or progressive care experience considered.
- Competency with critical care equipment and procedures required.
- Strong organizational skills with adaptability to dynamic situations.
