Summary

The White Birch Center Extended Education Program is seeking enthusiastic and caring part-time teachers to join our Before and After School team. This role involves providing engaging, supportive care for school-aged children in a fun and safe environment. Regular hours are 6:45–8:00 AM and 2:00–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional hours available during school vacations and teacher workshop days. Duties

  • Ensure a positive, safe, and engaging experience for each child.
  • Supervise and actively participate in daily activities (meals, play, art, music, outdoor time, field trips, transitions, and routines).
  • Interact playfully and respond sensitively to children’s needs, interests, and requests.
  • Use positive guidance to support pro-social behavior and meet children’s physical and emotional needs.
  • Promote and model good hygiene and healthy habits.
  • Greet and support families, building strong relationships to foster growth and development.
  • Support and supervise Assistant Group Leaders in behavior management, expectations, and supervision.
  • Maintain professionalism as an ambassador for White Birch, upholding confidentiality and policies.
  • Keep the program site clean, organized, and in compliance with NH Child Care Licensing Rules.
  • Collaborate as a team member with tact and discretion.



Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma, and one of the following:
  • Experience working with school-age children, totaling 600 hours;
  • Documentation of at least 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or other field of study focused on children, awarded by a regionally accredited college or university;
  • Be able to pass a NH Criminal Background Check and a DCYF Central Registry Check



Nice To Haves

  • Hold a current First Aid and CPR Certification or have the ability to retain a First Aid and CPR Certification
