Our central MA client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Residential Real Estate and Estate Planning Paralegal to join their team. This dynamic role combines responsibilities in real estate conveyancing with estate planning support. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting with residential real estate transactions and estate planning matters and exhibit excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience in one area is required, do not have to have both. Full-time in the office, 8-4 or 5.
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Paralegal Duties:
- Support attorneys in the facilitation of real estate conveyancing for buyers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers.
- Prepare closing documents such as deeds, settlement statements, and mortgage discharge documentation.
- Conduct title searches and review title abstracts to confirm property ownership details.
- Assist with the drafting of purchase and sale agreements, loan documentation, and other transactional documents.
- Coordinate closings, including managing schedules with clients, brokers, lenders, and attorneys.
- Maintain meticulous files and ensure compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
Estate Planning Paralegal Duties:
- Assist attorneys in the preparation of estate planning documents, including but not limited to wills, trusts, power of attorney forms, and healthcare proxies.
- Conduct research on estate planning laws and regulations as needed.
- Organize client intake and manage document collection for estate planning needs.
- Maintain a database of estate planning clients and track document timelines.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients regarding estate planning matters.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in residential real estate and estate planning - dont' need both.
- Strong knowledge of real estate conveyancing processes and legal documentation.
- Proficiency with estate planning principles and associated documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively between clients and attorneys.
- Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in legal technology tools for eFiling and document management preferred.
- Knowledge of eDiscovery tools is considered a plus.
