Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A dedicated 1:1 nurse is needed to support a medically fragile student in a special education setting. This contract position spans the current school year and involves consistent weekday hours, providing essential nursing care and transportation support.
Location: Quincy, MA (with transportation responsibilities between Billerica, MA, and Lexington, MA)
Setting: Middle School
Job Duration: Current School Year (CSY) - Contract
Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00-7:30 AM start until about 2:00 PM dismissal
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care to a medically fragile student during transportation to and from school on a special education van
- Assist the student in preparation for each trip from home to school and back
- Collaborate with the nurse assigned at the students out-of-district educational placement
- Float within Billerica Public Schools district to provide nursing support as needed
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials required
- Experience in school nursing and working with medically fragile students preferred
- Ability to manage transportation nursing responsibilities safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educational and healthcare staff
