THE ROLE:
- Working from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Handling vital project management aspects for DOT bridge and highway jobs, including scheduling crews, generating cost estimates, and negotiating subcontracts
- Ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
- Updating cost estimates to match production data and material prices
- Completing construction take-offs and negotiating change orders
- Preparing and submitting shop drawings
- Maintaining open communication between construction crews and office staff
- Leading meetings and motivating team members

If you're interested in becoming our Highway Project Manager, you'll need:
- 5+ years of experience managing heavy highway construction projects (either from the office or in the field)
- Experience working on Public and Private projects
- Microsoft Office experience
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to compose formal letters
- Must live within 1 hour of the job location
The following preferred qualifications would help you stand out:
- Civil engineering or construction management degree
- Experience using estimating software (B2W), accounting software (Spectrum), or project management software (ProjectSight or Procore), and scheduling software (Primavera P6)
- AutoCAD or Bluebeam experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand, walk, or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. Essential Functions
- Responsible for the management of multiple projects (1-4) simultaneously
- Responsible for project administration, data entry, scope of work development, cost change order estimates, proposals, subcontractor buyout and coordination, scheduling creation, and updates.
- Responsible for CPM scheduling, project cost control, and Risk Management.
- Coordinates with Project Architects, Engineers, Owners, Subcontractors, and Superintendents.
- Management of project execution in accordance with contract requirements and project management procedures.
- Coordinate subcontractor buyout to include arranging and attending site visits with subcontractors, tracking subcontractor proposals, and entering required data in project management software.
- Responsible for the setup and maintenance of projects in the project management system, but not limited to drawings, submittals, budget, directory, Prime Contracts, commitments, and meeting minutes.
- Review subcontractor proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements, scope, and budget.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and prepare detailed subcontractor agreements.
- Responsible for project accounting including invoice review, development and updating cost to data reports, billing projections and client billings.
- Coordinate project close-out, to include punchlist management, obtaining required documentation, assisting pre-final inspections and As-Built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety guidelines and all local requirements (OSHA).
- Participation in all superintendent meetings and calls as needed.
Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screening test.
