Overview
Are you a dedicated and skilled technician who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Technician II to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical systems at our compressor station facilities. This role plays a key part in maintaining the equipment that ensures continuous and dependable gas delivery.
What You Will Do
- Ensure proper operation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:

- Air systems
- Air dryer systems
- Fuel systems
- Cooling systems
- Gas compression equipment
- Prime movers
- Auxiliary and station support equipment
- Recognize, report, and respond to abnormal operating conditions.
- Complete maintenance-related paperwork, logs, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Provide guidance to other employees regarding station equipment maintenance tasks when required.
- Work safely at all times and actively participate in company safety programs.
- Collaborate with team members and maintain strong, respectful working relationships.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PHMSA, EPA) in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and O&M Manuals.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot turbine/compressor package units, including:

- Start/stop procedures
- Alarm monitoring
- Interpreting operational variables
- Initial response actions
- Assist others with troubleshooting and repairs of all station equipment.
- Work independently on standard assignments with minimal supervision.
- Participate in design reviews and interpret diagrammatic/one-line drawings.
- Maintain accurate and current equipment records and ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed.
- Monitor operational pressures, alarm set points, and respond appropriately to abnormalities.
- Perform routine inspections on:

- Air systems
- Fuel systems
- Cooling water systems
- Oil systems
- Safety systems
- Operate turbines, auxiliary equipment, station valves, filtration systems, and liquids handling systems.
- Assist with work planning and provide budget-related input as needed.
- Serve as a strong team member and step into leadership roles when required.
- Perform any additional duties assigned to support station operations.
Who You Are
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of directly relevant mechanical or technical experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Willing and able to work:

- Overtime
- Weekends
- Shift schedules
- On-call and standby rotations
- Overnight travel as needed
- Resides, or is willing to relocate, within 30 miles of the reporting location.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong desire to learn, grow, and advance in mechanical operations.
- Working knowledge of pipeline maintenance, equipment repair, and mechanical systems.
- Strong technical and analytical skills backed by experience and/or training.
- Proficient with basic computer applications, including Excel and Word.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to contribute positively to a team environment grounded in integrity and collaboration.
- Demonstrated commitment to performing work safely.
- Innovative problem solver who follows SOPs and established procedures.
- Takes initiative and ownership in resolving issues.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform activities including (but not limited to):
Balancing, bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, grasping, carrying and lifting up to 25 lbs, pushing, pulling hand-over-hand, reaching overhead, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, reading fine print, distinguishing color coding, and hearing required for communication and equipment monitoring.
