POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Think Tank seeks a Senior Research Assistant Level III to support NOAA with manuscript development and publication for the Senior Scientist. The role involves conducting literature reviews, maintaining bibliographic databases, organizing references, and collaborating on the drafting, editing, and completion of scientific manuscripts of national and international interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct literature searches using scientific databases (e.g., Web of Science).

Manage bibliographic databases (e.g., Zotero, Endnote) and provide regular updates.

Revise outlines, draft, edit, and insert references into manuscripts.

Ensure proper referencing and logical consistency of documents.

Develop manuscripts, book chapters, and reports in collaboration with the Senior Scientist.

Lead the development of national and international workshops, conferences, and symposia.

Prepare and finalize submission materials for manuscripts.

Assist or lead in responding to peer review and reconciliation with publishers.
REQUIREMENTS:

Ph.D. in marine science, fisheries, ecosystems, or related field.

Demonstrated experience in the publication process, with published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

Strong technical writing and editing skills.

Ability to lead and organize scientific workshops, theme sessions, and symposia.

Experience collaborating on complex scientific projects of national and international relevance.
