Overview
Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking a Per Diem Orthopaedic Billing Coder to assist our team during a key electronic medical record (EMR) transition. This is a temporary, flexible opportunity ideal for an experienced coder looking to contribute during a time-sensitive project. The primary focus will be reducing coding backlogs and ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions.
Key Responsibilities

Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for orthopaedic services based on medical records and provider documentation

Ensure coding compliance with payer policies, billing regulations, and documentation standards

Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to resolve coding discrepancies or clarify documentation

Support efforts to reduce billing backlog and improve claims processing efficiency during the EMR transition

Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while working independently in a remote setting
Qualifications

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent coding experience, preferably in orthopaedics

Experience with NetPractice (NetPracticePM/EHR) strongly preferred

Solid understanding of insurance guidelines, coding regulations, and HIPAA compliance

Ability to work remotely with high attention to detail and data security

Flexible availability preferred for the duration of the assignment
