Overview

Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking a Per Diem Orthopaedic Billing Coder to assist our team during a key electronic medical record (EMR) transition. This is a temporary, flexible opportunity ideal for an experienced coder looking to contribute during a time-sensitive project. The primary focus will be reducing coding backlogs and ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for orthopaedic services based on medical records and provider documentation

• Ensure coding compliance with payer policies, billing regulations, and documentation standards

• Collaborate with billing and clinical teams to resolve coding discrepancies or clarify documentation

• Support efforts to reduce billing backlog and improve claims processing efficiency during the EMR transition

• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards while working independently in a remote setting

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification required

• Minimum 2 years of recent coding experience, preferably in orthopaedics

• Experience with NetPractice (NetPracticePM/EHR) strongly preferred

• Solid understanding of insurance guidelines, coding regulations, and HIPAA compliance

• Ability to work remotely with high attention to detail and data security

• Flexible availability preferred for the duration of the assignment
