We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Construction with a focus on Mechanical/HVAC Projects. This leadership role will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of multiple large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will be a key player in our organization, leading a team of professionals in executing complex mechanical and HVAC projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific HVAC/mechanical construction


projects.

  • Ensure the project objectives and company goals are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Develop and implement project strategies, preparing comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, budgets, and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project objectives with company goals, and to maintain project scope and schedule.
  • Oversee all stages of project life cycle, including conception, definition, execution, and implementation to ensure project quality, schedule, and


budget objectives are met.

  • Review project plans and specifications, making recommendations for improvements if necessary.
  • Monitor project progress, making detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency


improvements.

  • Review the work progress on a daily basis and prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Ensure all legal requirements, building and safety codes, safety inspections, city guidelines, and local and state regulations are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, partners, and contractors to ensure good communication and a high level of teamwork.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a specific focus on mechanical and HVAC projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully overseeing large-scale mechanical and HVAC construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture” and willingness to handle unexpected situations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in project management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant software.
  • PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Possess a high level of technical literacy, with the ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
