Job Description

Our client is an electronics manufacturing company specializing in high-reliability electronic and power conversion products. They are looking to add an Electronics Reliability Engineer to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$110k

Position Overview:
The Electronics Reliability Engineer will be responsible for supporting reliability engineering activities across new product development and existing products. This Electronics Reliability Engineer role includes reliability prediction, qualification testing, failure analysis, and field performance evaluation of electronic components, circuits, and PCB-based assemblies. The Electronics Reliability Engineer role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer teams and includes regular internal and external communication.

Responsibilities of the Electronics Reliability Engineer:

  • Develop, implement, and execute product reliability qualification plans.
  • Coordinate and manage qualification testing schedules and activities.
  • Monitor and report reliability growth and demonstration results for new products.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing product reliability monitoring programs.
  • Perform trend analysis on critical-to-reliability parameters.
  • Identify reliability improvement opportunities and support implementation in future designs.
  • Work with Design teams to ensure reliability considerations are incorporated into product development.
  • Investigate and resolve reliability issues affecting in-house or customer-reported failures.
  • Analyze field reliability data, including MTTF, FIT, and survival metrics.
  • Perform Weibull and Bayesian reliability modeling.
  • Recommend burn-in screening, life testing, and reliability test equipment.
  • Prepare and distribute reliability performance reports for internal teams and customers.
  • Serve as a technical resource for reliability-related customer inquiries.

Required Experience/Skills for the Electronics Reliability Engineer:

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in reliability engineering or electronics-focused engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and electronic troubleshooting.
  • Experience with reliability qualification testing and failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with reliability metrics, prediction methodologies, and data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Electronics Reliability Engineer:

  • Experience with AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is preferred.
  • Experience performing, including MIL-HDBK-217 and Telcordia reliability predictions, physics-of-failure analysis for electronic components and PCBs, and FMEA and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Knowledge of statistical quality control and yield analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Experience with Minitab, JMP, MS Project, or MS Visio are pluses.
  • Understanding of how engineering decisions impact quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field is required.
