A franchised car dealership in MetroWest, MA, is seeking an Automotive General Sales Manager. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in automotive dealership sales management, be process-driven, tech-savvy, and have a proven history of successful vehicle sales and exceptional customer satisfaction (CSI).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Daily Operating Control (DOC) and recommend necessary actions
  • Ensure proper handling and efficiency of internet and phone leads
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Corporate team to manage advertising for the Sales department
  • Contribute to the preparation of the quarterly dealership forecast, projecting sales, gross, expenses, and profits in coordination with all departments to ensure adequate coverage, profitability, and compliance
  • Oversee the selling system, including demo lines and product displays
  • Approve the acquisition of all new and used inventory for the dealership
  • Manage finance paperwork processing
  • Ensure all factory rebates and payments are processed with the accounting office
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with lending institutions and manufacturer representatives
  • Hire, train, motivate, and assess the performance of all salespeople
  • Ensure all sales staff are factory-certified
  • Help individual salespeople set and achieve realistic yet ambitious monthly goals and objectives, offering support to help them succeed
  • Assist salespeople with closing deals, including follow-up communications to improve closing rates
  • Supervise the sales team’s efforts to enhance the dealership’s image and customer satisfaction ratings
  • Schedule and manage the sales team to ensure adequate staffing at all times
  • Ensure adherence to dealership policies and procedures by all sales personnel
  • Stay informed about incoming inventory, features, and accessories, and how these benefit customers
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle sales

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as an Automotive Sales Manager
  • Availability to work Saturdays
  • Knowledge of the vAuto appraisal system
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a sales team
  • Professional management style, outgoing personality, positive attitude, and professional appearance
  • Strong customer service and follow-up skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license
