Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School, 7-12, Public Charter School located in South Hadley, MA

Job Description:

PVPA has an immediate opportunity for a paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. This position will be working with teachers and students in grades 7-12 to create classroom environments that allow for all types of learning styles. Under the direction of the Director of Student services, you will be responsible for:

  1. Direct support in academic classes including math, English, science and social studies.
  2. Supporting students within a general education environment to ensure full implementation of curriculum and Individual Education Plans
  1. Maintaining a structured and safe learning environment
  2. Tailoring support to students’ individual learning styles and needs
  3. Supporting students to organize their work, providing them with appropriate resources and materials
  4. Supporting students to become self-advocates and take responsibility for their academic performance
  5. Provide assistance to classroom teachers
  6. Collect information from teachers regarding students’ performance in the classroom and convey that information to students
  7. Model appropriate and responsible behavior
  8. Other duties as required

Qualifications:

The Successful candidate will minimally hold a BA degree, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting), be able to provide evidence of successful prior experience working with students in grades 7 through 12, and be computer literate.

Other Information/Instructions:

Salary Range: Full year salary base rate is $18.39/hour, annualized $25,518. Additional potential for bonus at the end of the fiscal year. 2024-2025 school year consists of 180 school days plus 5 professional development/curriculum work days and a full-time thirty-seven and one half hour work week.
