Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in grades 6-12 within a K-12 educational setting. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) according to individualized education programs (IEPs). The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering academic growth and meeting the diverse needs of students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to middle and high school students in ELA based on IEP goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and classroom strategies.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure achievement.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing, reviewing, and revising plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and school staff regarding student progress and needs.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in middle and high school settings.
- Knowledge of ELA content standards and ability to tailor instruction according to IEPs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
Location: Amherst, NH
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM 2:45 PM
Contract Duration: Current School Year (CSY)
