We provide a range of services for families and households across Southeastern Massachusetts.
Job Summary
Provide ongoing support, professional development, and coaching to teaching staff across our centers. The Educational Coach will work collaboratively with teachers to enhance their instructional practices, implement the Head Start curriculum with fidelity, promote positive child outcomes, and foster high-quality classroom environments
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and group coaching to teachers on effective teaching strategies, classroom management techniques, child assessment, and curriculum implementation (e.g., Creative Curriculum, HighScope)
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers to support their professional growth
- Model effective teaching practices and facilitate reflective practice among teaching staff
- Assist teachers in using child assessment data to inform individualized instruction and plan developmentally appropriate activities
- Support the implementation of evidence-based practices and program-wide initiatives related to education
- Assist teachers in adapting curriculum to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with disabilities and dual language learners
- Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and resources on various early childhood education topics
- Support teachers in accessing external professional development opportunities
- Work collaboratively with Center Directors, Education Coordinators, and other program staff to ensure alignment of educational goals and practices
- Participate in program meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of program-wide goals
- Assist in the collection and analysis of child outcome data to inform coaching strategies and program improvement efforts
- Maintain accurate records of coaching activities and professional development provided
Other Requirements
- Must pass a criminal background check and other required clearances
- Must have or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must meet the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to lift and carry young children, bend, stoop, and actively engage with children
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required
- Travel required amongst other Head Start locations

Knowledge, Skills and abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to observe objectively and provide constructive feedback
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred
- Experience in providing coaching, mentoring, or training to adults is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching preschool children, preferably in a Head Start setting
- Familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards and relevant state regulations
