A healthcare opportunity is available for a registered nurse with Med-Surgical and Telemetry expertise in Montpelier, VT. Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Active RN license with 2+ years clinical experience, including 1+ years in med-surg telemetry
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry (required)
- Proficiency in applying, interpreting, and responding to telemetry rhythms
- Experience with peripheral IV insertion preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with nursing assistants, LPNs, and interdisciplinary team members
- Commitment to professional appearance and adherence to hospital policies
Location: Montpelier, Vermont

Reliable transportation is recommended due to some housing being located up to a 15-minute drive from the medical center. Free onsite parking is available for staff convenience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide acute nursing care to adult patients with telemetry needs, including post-op ortho, urology, GI, COPD, CHF, dementia, and end-of-life care
- Apply and interpret telemetry monitoring, taking appropriate clinical actions promptly
- Perform NG tube insertions, peripheral IV placements, and other unit-specific procedures
- Collaborate closely with the care team to ensure seamless, holistic patient care
- Utilize electronic medical records and medication dispensing systems efficiently
- Participate in self-scheduled 12-hour shifts, with opportunities for extra 8-hour shifts; weekend coverage required every other weekend, holiday shifts expected
- Adhere to hospital dress code, safety protocols, and documentation standards
Additional Information:This unit prides itself on a tight-knit culture where RNs and support staff function as integral team members. Ancillary colleagues include CNAs, PCTs, secretaries, charge nurses, respiratory and anesthesia support 24/7. The hospital uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management. Floating assignments are infrequent.
